Professor Duncan Baird
Professor Duncan Baird is the Lead for Genetic and Genomic Medicine at Cardiff University and is a world expert in telomere biology. Becoming a Professor in 2012, Professor Baird has built a large research group focused on understanding telomeres and the genetic instability associated with their dysfunction in cancer. Professor Baird’s research has developed the highest resolution technique available to study telomeres, with a successful spinout company using these techniques in patient prognosis. With many high impact publications and a network of international collaborators, Professor Baird is a world leader in this fascinating field.
